Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (born 12 December 1990) is the current Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of the Malaysian state of Selangor. He is the son and heir to the current Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

Biography

Tengku Amir was born on 12 December 1990 (24 Jamadilawal 1411), as the third child and the first son of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. His mother is Nur Lisa Idris Abdullah, an American citizen. (Lisa Davis before her conversion to Islam). He was born in the United States.[1] As such, he has half American ancestry.

On 3 May 2002, aged 11, Tengku Amir was proclaimed as Raja Muda of Selangor. He will be formally installed after he reaches the age of 21.[2]

He attended [[File:Wellington College]] in the United Kingdom and graduated in 2009. He is currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Ecology & Environmental Biology at University of Leeds, United Kingdom.[3]

He is a caring and down to earth royal prince. He is also a patron of a few charitable organisations, including Chesire Home and the Raja Muda of Selangor Foundation.(Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor).[3]
